How many words should I write for a process diagram?
The same as any Task 1 response: a minimum of 150 words, with 170-190 being the ideal range. Process diagrams sometimes produce shorter responses because there are no numbers to report, so make sure you add enough detail about each stage.
Should I add information that is not in the diagram?
No. Only describe what is shown in the diagram. Do not add steps, materials, or explanations based on your own knowledge. If the diagram does not show a step, you should not mention it.
Is it okay to use "firstly, secondly, thirdly" throughout?
Using this pattern for every stage is too repetitive. Use it for the first two or three stages if you like, but then switch to other sequencing language such as "at this point," "once this is completed," or "the next stage involves."
Do I need to write the exact number of stages?
Mentioning the total number of stages in your overview is helpful (for example, "the process involves eight stages"), but you do not need to number each stage in your body paragraphs. Focus on a natural, flowing description rather than a numbered list.
